Mandala All Done!

I'm temporarily borrowing the location of another tapestry, because the light is best there...

I went with the short title "Flower Window", rather than 'Stained Glass Window Mandala', as a short title fits better.
(I did my best to iron out the wrinkles, but they didn't budge much.)

Months Worth of Stitching
10:25am

I've been busy with the tapestries these past couple of months! During October and half of November, I worked on a request. Julia wanted a calligraphic piece, using a Baha'i title. She asked for it in purple and gold. It wasn't that hard to adapt the pattern to make a tapestry:

"Oh Glory of the All-Glorious

On the hanger, with the corner pendants...

Doing this brought to mind the importance of the 'commissioner'. Had Julia not asked, I wouldn't have made this piece.

Had I not have asked, the following piece would not have come into being:

My design mockup for the sculptor...

The sculptor Lena Toritch's brilliant interpretation...

Back to my stitching efforts... I felt the temptation to do one more of the 'radiant ankhs'. The new design challenge was adapting the design to a smaller size. The size changes on the others in the series were done solely by change of stitch count of the aida. This ankh end of 'arm' to end of 'arm' is 35 'pixels' wide, whereas all the others are 47 'pixels' arm to arm. I had to simplify some aspects of the design:

It is 78 x 141 mm.

Left ankh is 101 x175mm.
Both of these ankhs were done on 20 count aida, which better illustrates the design differences.
