Anubis On the Hudson

"A 25-foot tall replica statue of the Egyptian god Anubis, with a suitcase at his feet, passes in front of the Statue of Liberty while taking a tour of the New York waterways, Tuesday, March 23, 2010. The statue was traveling to announce the upcoming exhibit "Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs" starting on April 23 at the Discovery Times Square Exposition." (AP via abcnews.com)

This Anubis statue floated down the Thames in October 2007, when advertising the Tut show that was to be in London. I mostly went by a photo by Seth Wenig/AP, but I consulted a variety of other photos. "Gadjet" Andrew's close up of Anubis' face was particularily helpful, as was also "Californian Em's" good view of Lady Liberty. I wanted to have a more sunny scene, rather than the gray day it had been so I even consulted my old photo from 2005

Julia and I saw "Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs" in July of 2005.
