That Lovely Smile

'New grandmother' having left the room, Chloe turned to face the necro. ''Might as well get it over with,'' she thought, and hopped up on the table. This time she looked at what was on necro-man's tray. A needle, with a tube of something attached to it, ''Hmmm-m-m-m-m.''

All of the odd proceedings seemed to have unnerved the cleric. She was off to the side, praying to center herself. Meanwhile, Chloe just hoped the enchantress could find the materials she needed. Another session of torture with nothing to show for it wasn't appealing.

The cleric returned, with some serenity to her face. Chloe, too, felt a little more calm. ''So this procedure killed the others. Well, I'm fortunate, indeed. Though, I suppose the cleric resurrects you as good as new . . .''

The chanting began. Chloe felt sleepy. There was the predictable prick. It burned this time, but with a good burn. Perhaps she craved whatever substance was in that vial. She wanted the burn, like a hunger seeking satiation. The craving, the WILD craving seeking a climax of relief, how could she want so badly? But she did. The burn seemed to cleanse her. She let it do its thing, as the heat-pitch raised.

This time, the healing cool down began before she reached the point of crying 'uncle'. She just felt a good kind of exhaustion when it was all over.

''I want to go to sleep . . ,'' Chloe announced, yawning.

Indeed, she did, Right on that table, she fell asleep. Kaaldar looked at her, smiling. He'd have wakened her to go home and sleep, but the enchantress had not returned with any word about the reversal spell. So he let her sleep. Chloe had the most charming little half smile on her fake rosy lips.

He wasn't sure how long he sat there, mesmerized by her smiling face. Finally, a harried High Enchantress returned, ''I do believe I have all the ingredients, I'll begin now.''

She assembled them on a small table, and took a scroll and read the words very distinctly and slowly.

Very gradually, the 'veil' lifted, and Chloe took on an increasing blue hue. When the spell was over, Kaaldar was surprised to find himself looking at a Chloe who was nearly as dark as he was. Would he miss her old pale skin? It had been a novelty, indeed.

Still, what he loved best about her was partially contained in her lovely half-smile. That had not changed at all. Neither had her state of deep slumber.

All the black robed people quietly left, and it was just the two of them. Kaaldar walked over to the table upon which Chloe slept so peacefully, and kissed her awake.

''Hummmm! Hmmm. Nice, Kaaldar, nice. It isn't time to get up yet, is it? But this bed . . . is so hard. This isn't our bed, is it? Oh, lead me home, sweetie,'' And she slide off the table, and leaned on Kaaldar.

She never totally woke up, until two days later, when she found herself very sexually hungry, however. Chloe kept Kaaldar busy, indeed, with her demands. Once satiated, she fell asleep again, this time with an even bigger smile on her face.
