For some time now I've been busy with Egyptological research, and haven't had much time to draw. My paper is to a point where even if the last book I'm waiting on doesn't arrive in time, I have enough proof and a finished draft. Part of that paper is about the similarities between the Hindu chakra system and Egyptian serpent symbology. This study played into my drawing last night. I hunted Flicker for inspiration, and came to this contemplative person sitting in a restaurant, and it peaked my imagination. I let my intuitive side at the drawing, as well as what I took consciously from the photo. The table row looks a bit like a ladder, and I put symbols for some of the various chakra, the power chakra, the heart (ib) and the third eye (uraeus). The framed pictures in the photo coalesced into one, which frames the symbol for the highest chakra. The Crown chakra, 'Sahasrara' is in Egyptian the 'Akh', the effective luminous spirit, to me my higher Self. The person is contemplating the Runa (Mystery) of all this. I opted for digital coloring. The line is thick because I used a 'Sharpie' 'fine point' marker rather than a very fine point Micron pen. |
