I've been making good progress on Julia's portrait. Her forehead, neck, area around the necklace, nose, lips and chin are all done. I've got new ideas on how the necklace should look. Right now, I'm thinking intervals of "dark amethyst" and "pale pearl" would contrast nicely with the maroon dress. I still haven't got a clear idea of how the figures on the dress should look, but that's a long way off.

Progress and New Idea
And I have a new sculpting idea. Nevermind, I now have two bases, still lacking any smidge of clay. And soon, there will be three bases needing attention, when Shapeways ships the base for a relief of Nit (Neith). Perhaps today is the day I will begin with clay.
Side by side, to show how I used the original silhouette of Nebthet to start with ....
Wiki photo which will guide me ....
The page for that Wiki photo doesn't identify this statue, but another Wiki page photo of that statue says it is from the Louvre, accession number E3730.
I hope the next time I report in here, I can tell you clay application is happening!
