Colorful Heru-Wer
12:49pm

"Sharpie Pen" and colored pencil on acid free paper, with some digital refinement, 17.8 x 25.3 cm (7 x 10 in.)

I had quite a bit of space below Heru-Wer, so I put a ma'at plinth underneath him, to give him something meaningful to sit upon.

My sketch model was a pyramid shaped statue at the Turin museum. I took the titles from another side of this piece, meaning "Great God, Lord of heaven". Horemheb's tomb also has a Heru with these titles, but I think that one is Heru-sa-Aset, (Horus, son of Isis)

I wish I could say the final digital version hadn't been altered, but it was. Some of the image's weaknesses revealed themselves when I flipped it horizontally.
