"Views of a Statue of Ptah"
5:27am

Seated Ptah statue at the Egyptian museum in Turin

Who knows whether I will ever get to go to Turin and see this lovely statue of Ptah in person? I am glad at least for the people who have been there and photographed it. By seeing all their photos, it's almost as if I can walk around the statue in my mind.

"Oriana.italy" shares an over view of the scene, this statue of Ptah beside a taller statue of Ptah. Gilberto Tortora's photo shows a trace of red paint on the neck collar. Photographer kmg 1635 reveals Ptah's beard has a small hole drilled in it. Possibly the most color-true, HEN-Magonza captures a three-quarters view, revealing a bit of the back. Also, Francesco Forbino has a full view from the front and slightly above. By examining the cartouche on the throne base, we can read "Neb Ma'at Ra", and know this statue was made during the reign of Amunhotep III.

This page in French, author name not given (only "Amis Égypte Ancienne"), also has many views of this lovely statue
