"Morning Park Walk"
11:06am

It was rather hot, the flowers a little wilted, but I did remember the camera...

We'll get an earlier start tomorrow, for by nine am, it's already steamy...

"Mandala #2"
4:35am

"When I don't feel well, my whole world revolves around my pain."

Saturday was a wonderful day. After the walk, we saw _Letters to Juliet_ at the Main Street theater. All during the first part of the movie, when Victor is obsessing over noodles, wine and truffles, I was lusting over Italian food. The appetite was in full force as Julia and I walked up the street to Da Boyz Italian Cuisine. The Greek pizza tasted real good.

After we got home, I put more of the park walk photos up. By evening, a vague sinus nag was beginning, but it was vague enough, it didn't ruin the night.

By Sunday morning, however, the sinuses were complaining loudly. I napped a lot during the day. The one bright spot was seeing _Oceans_ on the big screen. The filmography is amazing, so thrilling to be that close to the sea creatures.

The rest of the day was rather dull, though. This morning, the sinuses are still aching. (But at least their pain inspired an art attempt!)

"Thoth as a Baboon with Wadjet Eye"
5:36am

Yesterday's art attempt looks as sick as I felt. The best way to remedy this is to follow with a drawing of Thoth holding the Wadjet eye, (aka 'Horus Eye', or 'sound eye')

Drawn from a photo of a Ptolemaic statue at the Ashmolean museum.
To clarify its damaged areas, I consulted photos of baboons and a Horus eye amulet.
Printable underneath...

As best as I can make out, Thoth is standing on a snake. My web searches for info about this piece did not reveal anything further. Thoth is holding the Horus eye because he is the one who heals both Horus and Set after their 'contendings'. In addition to being depicted as a baboon, Thoth is also illustrated with an ibis head.

"Mandala #3 and an Intuitive Doodle"
6:29am

Web access has been spotty the past couple of days. So instead of perusing the social networks and shopping for 'shiny things', I've been left to my own amusements. I continued with the mandala explorations this morning, this time dealing with my _fears_:

Extinction, loss, helplessness, hopelessness, stupidity, insanity, lies, irrationality, death and war...

I left the scanner 'litter' in there, instead of cleaning it up, because it represents imperfection, another thing I sometimes fear, (even though I so often have it!), and the roughness adds to the piece.

But I don't want to end today's entry on a scary note, so I'll include last night's intuitive doodle:
