"All Shook Up"
5:30pm

Each day when arriving at work this week, I've been troubled to see a dead bird carcass resting two parking spots away from me. Today, there he was again, no Horus/Christos Pidgeon, he wasn't resurrecting on the third day. So after clocking in, I set down the lunch box, and got the dust pan. Horus Pidgeon didn't receive any lengthy ceremony. As I heaved his corpse into the dumpster, I told his Ba to fly west, meet Osiris and be reborn.

That wasn't the only odd thing today. About quarter to twelve, I was deep in concentration over remaking a denim biker's jacket, when I felt myself being rocked... HARD. I screamed. A customer cautioned, "Easy, girl!" I looked over at the clothes racks. They were shaking, and shook for a good minute. My co-worker's first reaction was to run outside, but the customer corraled her back in.

The phone rang, no doubt a friend asking the co-worker, "Did you feel that?" Then I called Julia. She was in the middle of cooking pasta, and feared the stove would explode. Each customer told their tale. Most fared well, but one said her co-worker's clock was knocked to the table, where its impact broke some knick knacks she had.

I've been in Yuma since December of 2001, and while I've felt a few mild shakers, I've never experienced anything like this.

Those manning the news wires think it's unusual, too, for the news from Chicago's WMFT via the internet informed their listeners about the earthquakes.

A 5.8 quake, followed by a 4.8 and several after shakes varying from 4.0 to 3.0

According to Phoenix based abc15.com, even people in Phoenix felt this shaker.
