"Welcome to Imperial Sand Dunes"

The first choice of location was a park 'close to Arizona' and on Native American lands. The Quechan who'd answered the phone said it was in California. Two days before the wedding, I thought to look at Google maps. Surprise!

The east side of the road which led to the park is in California. The west side of the road is in Arizona. The park is on the west side. Not good for a wedding using a California marriage license!

I reported my findings to the minister, with the suggestion that the sand dunes might be an aesthestically pleasing place. Friday, the day before the wedding, she and her husband scoped out the dunes. She found this time a year a permit was not needed.

So we were good to go. Julia and I emailed or called all the people who'd expressed interest in attending.
