I looked at several ancient models of the Set animal seated:

As appearing on Henen's coffin at the Louvre, an 18th Dynasty relief in Karnak's open air museum, and from Amenemhat's pyramid temple at el-Lisht

I also looked at a few saluki photos here and there. I didn't like my first attempt, so I tore it out of the sketch book and tried again.
